Silent Night at the Pines

A couple of pictures from Saturday Night after all was quiet at Common Lane with just the station lights & a few christmas lights looked very relaxed and calm. I hope there clear enough.View out of the footbridge as you arrive in Common lane. The shop to the left, with the Pines Room straight infront.

A slightly different view of the same area.

Looking down through Common Lane Station towards the Visitors centre & Common Lane Shed.

Looking back at Harolds Retail Empire or the Glr Shop which ever you prefer. Just visible is the phone box.

Santa's Specials on the GLR

A very enjoyable weekend was had by all playing trains during our Santa's Special weekend. 10 trains ( 5 each day), all completely full with Grandparents, Parents, Children & some children that were more grown up than the parents. Presents, Mince Pies, Squash, wine, biscuits, more wine, elf's, more wine.

Please find below some photos of the weekend. There should be some of a man in a red suit but i could never catch him to get a photo. Guess I'll have to try again on the 25Th.

First train of the weekend on Saturday Morning. No. 6 Mr G gently brewing up in Platform 1 ready for the 11.00 to Park Lane.

Mr G just coming through our now FULLY automated level crossing. With the final piece of the puzzle installed during the week by CJ, the crossing only needed a tweak before functioning beautiful all weekend. Credit to CJ & Bert's on one less thing to worry about.

The Santa's Special returning into Common Lane. Awaiting on the platform would be Father Christmas & several of the GLR Elf's.

Speaking of Elf's. Meet Senior Elf Lucas, caught checking his Christmas list for Father Christmas. Even Mike wants a new pair of sock's & a soap on a rope for Christmas. aah
